  • How is Allegro Strings different from other Atlanta-based ensembles?
  • A key difference is that Allegro Strings is comprised solely of professional full-time musicians. Our musicians all hold advanced degrees in music from well-respected institutions, including Julliard, Oberlin, Indiana University and others. They have dedicated their professional lives to perfecting their musical skills. Many are players with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra or the Atlanta Opera Orchestra, and others perform with very well-respected chamber ensembles.

  • Why should I hire Allegro Strings for my special event?
  • Allegro Strings provides the most exceptional professional music and personal service for the best value in the Atlanta area. Since 1991, Sandy Salzinger, a member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, has used his experience to assemble Atlanta's finest professional, full-time musicians for weddings, receptions and other special occasions. Sandy especially enjoys working with a couple or event coordinator to select the perfect music for the special day, and he will assist you every step of the way to make sure the music at your event is unsurpassed.     If you are considering other ensembles for your wedding, reception or special event, we encourage you to obtain CDs from all the groups you are considering and compare them side by side.   • I want to use Allegro Strings for my wedding ceremony. What can I expect?
  • We will begin playing as your guests begin to arrive, usually 20-30 minutes before the ceremony. In a typical ceremony, we will play three pieces for the Processional: one for the mothers, one for the attendants, and music for the bride. We will play any music you might want during the ceremony, such as for the lighting of the unity candle. At the close of the ceremony, we will play Recessional music as you and your delighted guests depart. Of course, the foregoing represents only a typical scenario; we often collaborate with a couple or event coordinator to customize a program to fit their needs.

  • I'm not very familiar with classical music. How do I choose my selections?
  • We are happy to offer a private consultation to assist you in selecting your music. Or, if you wish, you may depend entirely on the experience and knowledge of Allegro Strings in selecting music that is appropriate for your occasion – joyous Baroque for a wedding Prelude, upbeat show tunes for receptions, or elegant classical music for your anniversary celebration or corporate event.

  • I will have an organist, but I also really love the sound of strings. Can you both play my ceremony?
  • Yes! Alternating between organ and strings for Prelude music can have a lovely effect. In addition, there are many musical arrangements that we can play together, creating a beautiful, large orchestral sound.

  • My aunt is going to sing during my ceremony. Can you accompany her?
  • Yes, we can. We will be happy to communicate directly with her ahead of time to plan out musical details. If a rehearsal is necessary, we can meet with her at the venue before the festivities. The amount of rehearsal time needed depends on the complexity of the music. A fee may apply if extra rehearsal time is needed.

  • What do you require at the venue?
  • All we need are armless chairs for each musician. If the lighting is low, we require access to an electrical source within 10 feet.

  • Will you play outdoors?
  • Yes, as long as conditions will still allow us to provide quality music and keep our instruments protected.

  • Can we book you for our reception after the wedding?
  • Absolutely! Our extensive repertoire ranges from early Baroque music to modern show tunes – and everything between.

  • Other than weddings, what other events are suitable for your music?
  • Our members have performed at corporate events, fundraisers, birthday parties, art openings, anniversary parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, and house concerts.

  • Are references available?
  • Yes, please click here to read excerpts from letters we have received through the years. We will happily provide a full copy of any reference letter upon request.
